How to find the best price for your plane ticket

In my dream world I would fly away every month. In reality of course, this does not work, but I do strive to travel as much as possible. I-want-to-see-the-whole-world! And if you want to travel a lot, you have to make sure that you can do this as cheap as possible. I give you my tips & tricks to find the right price for your plane ticket!

Find your ticket in 3 steps

Step 1:

Go to Skyscanner.nl. Enter your desired date and destination. Don't know where you want to go yet? Then enter 'Everywhere' at destination.

Step 2:

You will now get a list of airlines and prices. The cheapest option is at the top. Go to the website of the airline.

Step 3:

Do you have a little bit of flexibility? Then play around with the dates a bit. For example, flying back on Sunday is more expensive than flying back on Monday.

5 Tips & Tricks

#1. Search via a 'Monthly overview'

Really nice, because you can see exactly which day of the month is the cheapest to fly.

#2. Always book your ticket at the airline

You do not want to pay unnecessary administration costs on another website.

#3. Don't forget that with many airlines you have to book additional (hand)luggage

I travel very light, but if you still want to take that hair dryer with you, don't forget to book some luggage ;).

#4. The best price does not automatically mean that it is also the best trip

If you have to transfer 3 times to get there, you might be better off paying €100 more for a direct flight.

#5. Also look at package deals

Do you plan to stay in one place? Then also take a look at package deals via, for example, TUI or Corendon.

And what will be your next destination? I would really like to encourage you to try the 'Everywhere' option at Skyscanner. Besides the big cities, the world has so much more to offer. Ever considered flying to Bilbao, Madeira or Reykjavik?

Cheers,

Nathalie
