South Korea is a country in East Asia on the southern part of the Korean Peninsula. In 1945, after World War II, Korea was divided into two occupation zones: North Korea, which was under Soviet influence, and South Korea, which was under American influence.

South Korea has one of the most advanced and prosperous economies in the world. It is known for its technological innovation and export-oriented industries, including electronics, automobiles, shipbuilding and steel manufacturing. Big names such as Samsung, LG and Hyundai have their origins in South Korea. Still, you'll probably think of this country's 'Hallyu', which refers to the global popularity of Korean pop culture, such as K-pop (Korean pop music), K-dramas (Korean television dramas), and Korean movies.

Tips for a city trip to Seoul; a bustling metropolis!

The vibrant heart of South Korea, Seoul, is a must-see city. Many are already familiar with this city through the great Korean series (“Kdrama”) on Netflix. However, it does not stop here. This country has something for everyone: a lively city, beautiful nature and of course fantastic food! I wouldn't recommend just going to Seoul, but easily calculate a stopover for a few days when travelling through Asia.
